2021 Major Minor Pairs Champions Decided

It’s Been a muddled year. Championships have been massively disrupted. Although we have at least been able to keep our eyes in by adopting covid safe practices. Showing our club that we can be trusted to stay safe allowed this to happen. Our skills, therefore, have been maintained throughout lockdown.

This enabled us to hit the ground running with our disrupted Championships and that’s precisely what Jim Jamieson organised. No sooner as the restrictions were relaxed did our Major Minor Pairs Championships games resume. This culminated in the final on Wednesday 20th October. The established pairing of Ray Solway and Tommy Smith met the relatively new but nonetheless skilful, pairing of Jim Jamieson and Roy Cartledge.

On a day when everyone expected the game to be called off due to threatening rain, they played class bowls through the poor weather. Ray and Tommy, firing on both barrels, were victors 21-17. Congratulations to the 2021 Major Minor Pairs Champions Ray Solway and Tommy Smith and commiserations to the runners up.
