2021 Minor Singles Championship

What a year for Tommy Smith! Just last Wednesday he took the Major Minor Pairs Championship with his partner, Ray Solway. Then, on Saturday following that final he was again appearing in the Minor Singles Final against Peter Smith.

The battle of the ‘Smudgers’ was a well fought match which saw an early established lead by Tommy’s deadly accurate bowls, slowly eroded and Peter take firm control with bowls consistency worthy of a final. Having established a good margin towards the end of the scoring (Peter on 28 points) Tommy Smith began to find more form and fought back reducing his 12 point losing margin to only 3 points but it was a little late. Pocketing his final Bowl after more than 3 hours of play, Peter reached 31 points to take the match and Championship for 2021.
